Being a volunteer is a great way to meet other families with children the same age as your own, while becoming a greater part of your children’s early learning experiences and supporting their school.

How to volunteer
Every family at WIDE is required to volunteer 15 hours per school year. If you cannot fulfill this time commitment, we have parent sponsorships to help pay for events and activities.

Complete the Volunteer Packet
Download and complete all required forms.

Have the required form notarized
The Volunteer Packet includes a form that must be notarized.

Include a copy of your driver’s license
Attach a clear copy to your completed packet.

Submit everything to the school office
Bring the completed packet, notarized form, and driver’s-license copy to the school office.
Volunteers handling or serving food must also complete the required food-handler course.
Complete food-handler training if needed and email the office a copy of your certificate of completion. This will need to be renewed periodically.

Sometimes things come up at the last minute and we need some extra classroom support or someone to run and grab some yogurt for food as a language - if you are available to help on short notice let us know!

Room Parents
Room Parents
Room Parents help strengthen communication and connection between families, teachers, and the WIDE community. They attend monthly in-person meetings, share important updates with their classroom, encourage family participation, and help direct questions to the appropriate staff member.
Monthly meetings
Upper Grades: First Monday at 4:00 PM
Preschool: First Tuesday at 4:30 PM
Regular in-person participation is an important part of the commitment. Monthly meetings are also open to any WIDE parent or guardian, even if they are not an official Room Parent.
